Tour Programe
In the morning, your private driver and your tour guide will meet you and pick you up from your hotel.
You will then start the tour by visiting the Tomb of Akbar the Great, located in Sikandarah, in the western part of Agra. As its name suggests, this beautiful monument welcomes the tomb of Akbar, one of the most powerful Mughal emperors. You will surely be amazed by the architecture and craftsmanship used to create this beautiful monument, which was constructed by his son Jahangir in the early 17th century.
You will then head to one of the most overlooked monuments in the city: the Roman Catholic Cemetery of Agra, where there is the grave of John Hessing, a Dutch officer who served in the Maratha armies in the late 18th century. The design of his tomb will probably remind you of another monument, much more famous, located a few miles further…!
You will then have some time to have lunch and enjoy some typical Mughalai food and, along the way, you will have the opportunity to visit one of Agra’s colorful bazaars.
In the afternoon, you will visit the Chini Ka Rauza, the first building adorned entirely with glazed tile work, and the serene garden surrounding it.
Last but not least, your last stop will be the breathtaking Mehtab Bagh, a splendidly maintained garden complex on the other side of the Yamuna River. Enjoy the breathtaking view of one of the seven wonders of the world at sunset. Beautiful memories are guaranteed.
Your tour guide and driver will then drop you back to your hotel and the tour will end there.
